It's so damn *looks wearily at sister* hard to listen to my play being read again and again for Drama. You see, my teacher wanted us to write a serious story and I decided to write about a girl who keeps trying to please everyone. It was so sappy and so very...me that I just can't stand listening to them. I swear *looks at sister again* if I hear them one more time my head is going to explode from all the painful memories. Gwah.
Writing love poems and mooning over someone doesn't help. Seriously. I just hate love poems. It's like my life has turned into this one large sapfest. Heck, even my writing has turned sappy. Which is why I might as well put this scene here. I don't know if I'll add this as part of a BTM chapter.

Azula/Toph:
Toph grabbed Azula's arm and said, "Tell me you love me."
The firebender blinked. "What? But we don't have—”
“Please,” the girl pleaded. “I need you to tell me you love me. And I need you to mean it.”
“But why?”
Toph hesitated. “Someone…taught me how to see faces through my ears. Through voices. I want to see yours.”
Azula gave an exasperated sigh and looked at Toph squarely. “I love you.”
“Not good enough.”
“Why is that?”
“Because you didn’t mean it,” Toph said angrily. “There was no emotion to back your statement.”
Azula rubbed her temple, “Listen, Toph, you have to understand that I was brought up this way. I was brought up to be cold and calculating. I was brought up to become the perfect general for my brother’s army for when he becomes the Fire Lord.”
“Then just this once, I need you to forget everything they’ve taught you. Just this once I need you to be you.”
The Fire princess stared at Toph for a moment before nodding. “Alright.” Concentrating, she said, “I love you.”
“Not anymore.”
Azula flinched. “I love you.”
“Once upon a time.”
“I love you.” The words came out in a form of a growl.
“Since when?”
“I—this is ridiculous. We have to go and help the others.”
“Not until you tell me you love me.”
“But that’s what I’ve been trying to tell you for the last five minutes,” Azula spoke, barely containing her annoyance.
“Really? I don’t recall hearing anything.”
Azula clutched Toph’s shoulders tightly and leaned forward, her head touching Toph’s. “By Agni’s fire, I love you.”
Her words and emotions sang in Toph’s ears, making her smile. “You’re so beautiful, Azula.”
Note1: I'll flesh it out if I ever use it as a scene. (I can't right now...or else I'd be giving a lot of spoilers...)
Note2: The idea of being able to determine a person's face was actually from Hunter X Hunter. I can't remember which ep though.
